This month is a global celebration dedicated to recognizing and honoring the achievements, contributions, and struggles of women throughout history. It serves as a platform for highlighting the diverse accomplishments of women in various fields and advocating for gender equality and women's empowerment.
At The University of Texas at Austin, I asked three Gen Z students who they consider the most influential women in history are.
Grace Marilyn Feray, a senior majoring in Advertising and Radio, Television and Film, shared her perspective on the most influential women in history. According to Feray, Anne Hathaway stands out as an emblem of resilience and perseverance. Despite facing numerous challenges and scrutiny in the media spotlight, Hathaway has defied the odds and risen to prominence in the entertainment industry.
“Something I admire about her is that she's not ever complacent, she's always trying to achieve the next best thing.” Feray said.
We shine a spotlight on three iconic artists whose contributions have reshaped their respective industries and inspired millions worldwide.
Beyoncé, an undisputed queen of the music industry, continues to redefine boundaries with her groundbreaking performances and unwavering advocacy for social justice. Frida Kahlo, celebrated for her evocative and deeply personal artworks, remains a symbol of resilience and self-expression, transcending cultural barriers with her enduring legacy. Hathaway's versatility and talent on screen have solidified her status as a powerhouse in Hollywood, breaking stereotypes and paving the way for women in film.
